  • Born in Penang, Malaysia, Norman moved to the United Kingdom in 1994 to study Construction Management (Quantity Surveying). After graduated with Honours, he worked as the surveyor for 9 years before switching his career to a full time chef. His first restaurant was opened in Manchester in 2006 and York in 2012, followed by two more in Malaysia in 2014 and 2016.

     

    ​In 2010, Norman joined Formula One Lotus team as the race chef which embarked his vision to promote Malaysian cuisine to the world..

    Hailed by CNN as one of Malaysia's most famous exports, he was featured in Masterchef Malaysia, BBC’s Tom Kerridge Best Ever Dishes and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch and has been on numerous magazines in UK and Malaysia.
